In October 2016, I collaborated with Linda Gale Aubry to present The Inauguration of the Philadelphia Embassy of the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland [KREV].

Swedish artists Leif Elggren (King Leif I) and Carl Michael von Hausswolff (King Michael I) founded KREV in 1992. They describe it as "the largest and most populous realm on earth, incorporating all boundaries between other nations as well as the digital territory and other states of existence."

In the days before the event, the Kings and the new Ambassador (Mike) visited the Liberty Bell, one of Philadelphia’s best known historical landmarks, and annexed the bell’s famous crack into the territory of Elgaland-Vargaland.

The Embassy opening event on October 15 included a music performance, audio/video installation, exhibit of royal and national artworks of KREV by various citizens, creation of KREV passports for new citizens by the Kings, and ceremonies by the Ministry of Lamination including laminations and a game of pin the crack on the bell.

The project also resulted in a range of KREV-based porcelain sculptures by Linda, including a tower of porcelain rings proclaiming the articles of the KREV constitution; 3 paper publications, including a photo book of the event, a program designed to be worn as a lanyard, and a coloring book; and two music releases available on Bandcamp: a collection of KREV compositions, and a CD of the live performance by Sons of God with Mike Bullock.

The Inauguration of the Philadelphia Embassy of the Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
